Fitting -

All of the clothing that you wear while working out should be loose fitting and allow your body to move freely as well as making yourself feel comfortable and confident!

Material -

The best type of material to wear while working out is a material that has a moisture wicking component to it. This allows your body to stay dry and wick the sweat away while you are working out, which in turn lowers your overall body heat. Check below for a link to WSI sports who has a wide variety of moisture management clothing.

Dressing for the weather! -

Cold Weather: It is a good idea to wear several layers of lighter clothing in cold weather because this will help to trap your body heat more effectively than wearing only a couple heavy layers of clothing. Also it is much easier to take off one light layer of clothing and continue your workout if you become too warm rather than taking off a heavy layer and making yourself too cold and uncomfortable while working out. Also it is a good idea to wear a stocking hat while working out in the cold to help keep your body heat from escaping!

Hot Weather:  In Hot weather it is best to wear light clothing that has the moisture wicking component to it and is also light in color to avoid generating too much heat from the sun while working out outdoors. Also it is good to wear a light hat that you can soak in cool water to help control your body heat and bring it back down quick and easily!

What NOT To Wear -

NEVER wear plastic or rubberized clothing because it does not allow your sweat to evaporate, which can cause body temperatures to rise to dangerous levels.
